The Russian Federation has launched strikes on Myrnohrad using new bombs, posing a significant challenge for our Defence Forces — Lvutina

Russian occupants have targeted the civilian and residential infrastructure of Myrnohrad in the Donetsk region, utilizing three modernized bombs, as reported by Yanina Lvutina, a correspondent for Hromadske Radio in the Donetsk region.

The Russian shelling resulted in three casualties in Dobropillya and Chasovyi Yar, while 12 people were wounded in Myrnohrad.

«There were three hits in Myrnohrad. There is already information that the Russians used planning bombs. These are three guided aerial bombs with an advanced modification, which the Russians have never used in Ukraine before, a new stage of their aerial bombs. This is a new bomb that replaces the old FABs converted into KABs», — Lvutina revealed

She emphasized the necessity for the Ukrainian Defence Forces to adapt to counter these new enemy weapons. Lvutina clarified that these bombs are not precision-guided. Instead, «they are designed to hit residential buildings and civilians».

In Myrnohrad, the impact damaged 10 multi-storey residential buildings, rendering one entrance of a nine-storey building unsuitable for habitation. Additionally, some residents are left without heating due to damage to the boiler room. Lvutina highlighted an increase in attacks and shelling by Russian occupiers in the Donetsk region over the past week.

Earlier, experts from the Institute for the Study of War predicted that Russians would attempt mass production of advanced guided aerial bombs to extend their deployment across the entire front line in Ukraine.
