During the past 24 hours, Russian occupation forces launched an unsuccessful assault on the left bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region. Following significant losses, the enemy retreated to their original positions.
This was reported by the press service of the Southern Command.
«Counter-battery fighting continues in the operational area of the Southern Defence Forces. The enemy is determined to displace our units from their positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Over the past day, they attempted one unsuccessful assault. Having suffered losses, they retreated to their original positions», – the statement said.
The statement highlighted ongoing activities, with occupiers actively conducting aerial reconnaissance, shelling settlements on the right bank with artillery, and employing various modified attack drones with destructive elements. Despite these challenges, the defence forces are holding their positions and working to expand the bridgehead.
Throughout the combat day, the enemy used 42 FPV drones, 9 Lancet attack UAVs, and dropped 37 fragmentation munitions from various UAVs. Incidents included a civilian being wounded in Zmiivka due to explosive munitions, a damaged private car in Dudchany, and another wounded civilian seeking medical treatment from a previous day’s incident.
The press service also reported that Russian troops shelled Kherson four times with artillery and Stanislav twice. Several locations in Kherson region, including Republicanets, Veletynske, Tyahynka, Ivanivka, Krynky, Kachkarivka, Odradokamyanka, Dniprovske, Poniativka, Beryslav, Tyahynka, Lvove, Krupytsia, Zymivnyk, Ivanivka, and Chervonyi Mayak, were targeted. Additionally, the city of Ochakiv and the water area of the Ochakiv community in Mykolaiv region came under enemy fire. Tragically, one civilian was killed due to the enemy’s criminal actions during artillery shelling. Private houses, outbuildings, and civilian vehicles suffered damage.
