«One entrance is completely destroyed» — a journalist about the Shahed attack in Sumy

One of the «shaheds» utilized by the Russians in the attack on Sumy struck a high-rise building—a five-storey panel structure. One entrance is completely destroyed.

This information was reported on Hromadske Radio by Alyona Yatsyna, a journalist and co-founder of Kordon.media:

«Two Shaheds were intercepted by our defenders outside the city of Sumy; one drone collided with a multi-storey building. It was an ordinary five-storey panel structure. One entrance is completely destroyed. The «Shahed» impacted the third floor, causing the upper floors to collapse. The fire and rescue operation is still ongoing».

According to Yatsyna, rescuers confirm that all surviving occupants have been evacuated, while the exact number of casualties remains unknown.

Fifteen apartments no longer exist, and thirty apartments have suffered severe damage. Ten people were rescued from the building, five retrieved from the rubble, with two unharmed and eight sustaining injuries out of the ten rescued. Two individuals are in moderate condition, while the others are in stable condition.

«We are aware of one confirmed fatality, a person identified whose body is beneath the rubble. Rescuers have observed at least three more bodies, but the precise number remains unknown», – Yatsyna stated.
