The high-voltage facility of Ukrenergo was damaged in Odesa
In Odesa, during a nighttime attack on March 25th, Russian occupiers damaged one of Ukrenergo’s high-voltage power facilities. Consequently, residents of the Peresypskyi district of Odesa were left without electricity.
This was reported by DTEK.
Power engineers have already succeeded in restoring power supply to critical infrastructure facilities. However, the situation remains challenging. Emergency power outages are being implemented in Odesa and the Odesa district.
To alleviate strain on the grid, electric transport will not operate in the city today, March 25th. Industrial consumption is also being restricted.
«We are making every effort to restore electricity to homes as quickly as possible. We urge people to use electricity responsibly», — DTEK stated.
In the Odesa region, around midnight on March 25th, debris from a drone damaged a power facility and ignited a fire. This resulted in a power outage in parts of Odesa and neighboring settlements. The fire has been extinguished, and no injuries were reported. Restoration and repair work are currently underway.
Following the extensive Russian attack on March 24th, Odesa was among the cities that implemented blackout schedules.
Ukrenergo emphasized the necessity for electricity conservation in this region. The company stressed that it would take several days for specialists to repair the damage caused by the attack, activate the damaged equipment, and ensure consumption reliability.
