The large amphibious assault ship Konstantin Olshansky is a formidable vessel, yet the occupiers exploited it for civilian transportation across the Black Sea to Crimea.

Dmytro Pletenchuk, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Navy, disclosed this on Hromadske Radio, revealing:

«The occupiers even attempted to disguise our Olshansky as one of their refurbished ships, either Minsk or Olenegorskiy Gornyak».

With a crew capacity of up to 100 people, the Konstantin Olshansky boasts significant capabilities as a large amphibious assault ship. It has the capacity to transport over 300 marines or 10 tanks. However, despite its military potential, it was predominantly utilized for logistical purposes. Even when the so-called Crimean bridge was closed, they utilized the Olshansky as a ferry for civilians», — Pletenchuk remarked

As a reminder, on March 26, the Ukrainian Armed Forces targeted the Konstantin Olshansky ship with a Neptune missile in occupied Crimea.
