The search and rescue operation has been concluded at the site of the Russian attack in Chernihiv
A search and rescue operation has concluded at the site of a rocket attack in Chernihiv, where 18 people were killed and 78 residents injured.
The head of the regional military administration, Vyacheslav Chaus, announced the completion of the operation. Currently, 37 injured individuals are receiving treatment at local hospitals.
Chaus reassured the public, stating:
«All necessary assistance is being provided by local healthcare facilities, including the provision of essential medications».
Three individuals were successfully rescued from the rubble.
As a reminder, on the morning of April 17, Russian forces launched missiles targeting social and civilian infrastructure in Chernihiv. The attack resulted in damage to 24 buildings and 252 apartments, with significant destruction to the central building of Chernihiv Polytechnic and the district hospital. In response, food distribution points have been established, along with temporary shelters for displaced individuals.
April 18 has been declared a day of mourning for the victims of the Russian attack in Chernihiv.
