On May 6, the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine reported that a Magura V5 strike marine drone, as part of an operation conducted by the Group 13 unit, destroyed a speedboat belonging to Russian occupiers in Crimea.
Andriy Yusov, a representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, provided further details during an interview on Hromadske Radio.
«This operation occurred during the festive Easter night. We’ve observed the enemy’s attempt to conceal its larger vessels following heavy losses inflicted by the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine’s special forces, particularly the Magura marine drones. As a result, we’re now focusing on smaller targets, albeit modern and costly vessels. These high-speed patrol boats are utilized by the enemy to counter our aerial reconnaissance, patrol our territory, and pose a general threat. This achievement marks a significant success for us.
Despite the enemy’s efforts to complicate the operation of marine drones by implementing various measures at the affected anchorage, our specialists and operators from the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine’s special unit Group 13 continue to devise new methods and routes».
Yusov noted that the boat was stationed in the Narrow Bay within the temporarily occupied Crimea:
«However, it turned out that the bay wasn’t too narrow for our specialists, so to speak».
