«If there is an attempt to break in, we will respond» — Siversk operational-strategic group on the situation in Sumy Region
The spokesman for the Siversk Operational and Tactical Grouping of troops, Vadym Mysnyk, speaking on Radio Liberty, highlighted the tense situation on the border with the russia in Sumy Region, with ongoing shelling of border settlements by the russian army.
Mysnyk reported that 55 attacks on Chernihiv and Sumy regions were recorded on May 13.
«We are closely monitoring any further developments. The enemy has been consolidating specific units and increasing its presence on the border with Ukraine. We are observing these movements of personnel and equipment. The border in Sumy Region with russia spans 560 km, covering a vast area. We are tracking the concentration of enemy forces, major attacks, and reconnaissance efforts. Should there be any attempt to breach Ukrainian territory and launch offensive actions, we will respond accordingly», — stated the spokesman for the Siversk military training facility.
Additionally, according to Kyrylo Budanov, head of Ukrainian intelligence, the Defence Forces are expected to stabilize the frontline in the Kharkiv region over the next few days. However, there is a likelihood of russia launching a new attack further north, in Sumy region.
