Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, stated that the actions of the russians in the Kharkiv region aim to sow chaos and panic among Ukrainians, with the goal of destabilizing the situation within the country.

«The russians have been planning an operation in Sumy Region from the very beginning. They maintain small groups of forces in the border area, but thus far, the situation has not allowed them to take active action and commence the implementation of their plan.

In essence, the events in the Kharkiv region constitute primarily an information operation aimed at creating chaos and panic, complemented by actions on the ground. This is carried out to convey the impression that our groups in the eastern regions are being encircled and isolated, thus destabilizing the situation within the country. Therefore, let’s remain calm; nothing grave is unfolding», — stated Kyrylo Budanov.
