For the first time, Iran has supplied Russia with its latest bombs to strike Ukraine. The delivery of the ammunition became known after a Qods Mohajer-6 heavy Iranian drone crashed in the Kursk region.
Bild reports this with reference to Julian Röpke, an expert in open data analysis.
A heavy Iranian Qods Mohajer-6 drone crashed in the Kursk region of Russia the day before. It was carrying the latest Iranian Qaem-5 guided bombs.
These bombs were only put into service in Iran in 2019. The drone was supposed to attack Sumy Region, but for some unknown reason, it crashed.
Previously, the Russian Armed Forces had not used high-precision Qaem-5s in Ukraine. According to Röpke, their use indicates a «new level» of military cooperation between Tehran and Moscow.
As a reminder, Western intelligence has previously said that it has information about an agreement between Iran and Russia to transfer ballistic missiles, but has not yet seen signs that this has already taken place.
