Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko has signed a financial agreement between Ukraine and the EU, regulating the receipt of grant assistance under the Ukraine Facility amounting to EUR 5.27 billion over the next four years.
This was reported by the Ministry of Economy.
The decision to secure this grant support from the EU was made at a government meeting last week, and the Cabinet of Ministers has now finalized the agreement.
According to Svyrydenko, this is the final agreement needed to fully launch the Ukraine Facility program.
«The signing of the agreement to secure €5.27 billion in grant support over the next four years will help stabilize the macroeconomic and financial situation in the country and provide the necessary resources to support key sectors of the economy», — said the minister.
In total, budget support under the first component of the program, including loans and grants, amounts to EUR 38.27 billion.
The program will provide tranches in accordance with a quarterly schedule of indicators. In 2024, Ukraine expects to receive EUR 16 billion in support, of which EUR 3 billion will be in the form of grants.
