The SBU serves suspicion notices to former executives of Olenivska Colony where Ukrainian prisoners were killed
Law enforcement officers have served suspicion notices to two ex-executives of the Olenivska colony who are involved in the deaths of captured Ukrainian defenders.
This was stated by the SBU.
“We are talking about collaborator Serhiy Yevsyukov, the former head of the so-called ‘Volnovakha colony of the DPR’ in the village of Olenivka, and his former first deputy, collaborator Dmytro Neyolov», — the statement said.
According to the investigation, these men were in their “positions” when the Russians set off explosions on the territory of the occupation prison on the night of July 29.
“At least 50 Ukrainian servicemen who were in the prison were killed. Nine of them died because they were not provided with emergency medical care. Almost 150 prisoners were injured», — the government agency added.
The SBU emphasizes that both defendants were aware of the consequences of the explosions and the number of victims, but deliberately delayed the evacuation of the wounded to medical facilities.
Yevsyukov and Neyolov were served suspicion notices under Part 2 of Article 28 and Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – cruel treatment of prisoners of war, combined with premeditated murder, committed by a group of people.
In November 2022, the occupiers “replaced” both defendants in their positions. They are currently hiding from justice in the temporarily occupied part of Donetsk region.
Comprehensive measures are underway to find and punish the perpetrators for their crimes against Ukrainian soldiers.
As a reminder, on the night of July 28-29, 2022, in Volnovakha colony 120 in the village of Olenivka, Russians committed a terrorist act against Ukrainian prisoners of war, defenders of Mariupol. According to official data, 54 Ukrainian prisoners of war died as a result of explosions in the barracks.
