The Russian occupation army has begun using the North Korean Bulsae-4 long-range self-propelled anti-tank missile system against Ukraine. Specifically, one such system was detected by Ukrainian aerial reconnaissance in an open area.

This was reported by Militarny.

The Bulsae-4 can hit targets beyond the line of sight at a distance of more than 10 km, with some sources estimating the range at 10-25 km. This capability allows it to attack armored vehicles from a safe distance.

The Bulsae-4 launcher consists of a rotating package of eight containers with missiles. The missile is guided by an electro-optical head in combination with command guidance via a fiber optic cable. This setup allows the operator to perform manual control via video. During the missile’s flight, the operator can see the terrain, all objects, and bypass obstacles to hit targets beyond the line of sight or even behind cover.

Constant video contact allows for re-targeting if a higher-priority target is detected, ensuring high accuracy at maximum range from the first shot.

As a reminder, in early June, Bloomberg reported that North Korea had shipped about 5 million artillery shells of various calibers to Russia by rail.
