Reconstruction of Okhmatdyt should start by the end of the year — Executive Director of CF «Patients of Ukraine»
The tender for the reconstruction of Okhmatdyt will be restarted from scratch and is expected to be launched in September. Repair work will likely begin by the end of the year.
This information was reported by Inna Ivanenko, Executive Director of the Charitable Foundation “Patients of Ukraine,” on Hromadske Radio.
According to Ivanenko, not a single penny from the cancelled tender was spent on the repair of the children’s hospital. Instead, the tender process will now be restarted from scratch.
“That is, no one is paying attention to the cancelled tender. No work will be done under it. However, we now have complete carte blanche to restart all these works, hold a transparent tender, and select a service provider based on appropriate criteria», — Ivanenko explained.
She further mentioned that by mid-September, a defect report should be completed. This is essentially a report on the inspection of the building.
“This will allow us to understand what the estimate may be, prepare the tender documents, and launch the tender in September. The tender process will take about a month, and I hope we can start repair work by the end of the year», — Ivanenko added.
Restoration of Okhmatdyt
On the morning of July 8, 2024, the Russians launched a massive missile attack on Kyiv. During this attack the Okhmatdyt children’s hospital in the city center came under enemy fire.
On July 22, the Okhmatdyt announced the winner of a tender for urgent repairs to the hospital’s facade and interior. The winner was a little-known Zaporizhzhia-based company, Bud-Technology. It submitted one of the most expensive bids at UAH 307.45 million.
In addition, Prozorro published tenders for technical supervision of construction works worth UAH 5.2 million and for engineering and consulting services worth UAH 9.3 million.
However, on August 2, Health Minister Viktor Liashko announced that the tender for the reconstruction of Okhmatdyt would be cancelled and redone on Prozorro. The Ministry of Health also cancelled related tenders for the repair of the children’s hospital.
On August 20, the Ministry of Health finally formed a personal Council for the restoration of Okhmatdyt, which was approved by the relevant orders of the Ministry.
