A quarter of the missiles used in the massive missile attack on August 26 were fired from the sea.

This was stated by Dmytro Pletenchuk, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Navy, on Hromadske Radio.

The enemy’s tactics have not changed. They are no longer present in the Sea of Azov, which is under our tight fire control. The Black Sea is still being used. They «quickly» leave the base, fire missiles, and return,» said Pletenchuk.

He notes that the enemy tries to launch missiles from the sea and return to the base very quickly. This process takes literally a few hours.

According to Pletenchuk, the occupiers use this type of weapon only during combined missile attacks because the effectiveness of these missiles is not what it was at the beginning of the full-scale invasion. The defense forces have learned to counter them.

And of course, all of them were shot down,» he added.

The naval spokesman emphasized that, over time, it became clear that the characteristics of the missiles fired from the sea were not as good as Russia had claimed.

It became clear not only to Ukrainians,» he said.
