As of 10 September, the situation in both the Kurakhove and Pokrovsk sectors remains difficult. The Kurakhove direction has been a priority for the Russians for six months. This was reported by Orest Drymalovskyi, a soldier of the 79th Tavrian Air Assault Brigade, on Hromadske Radio.

«For six months, active assaults have been ongoing in our direction, particularly along the defence line of the 79th Tavrian Air Assault Brigade. The enemy attacks daily, deploying large quantities of equipment, including tanks and armoured personnel carriers filled with troops, against our paratroopers’ positions. Infantry assaults occur regularly. There hasn’t been a single day without enemy attacks», — emphasized the military officer.

According to him, the enemy is advancing toward the village of Kostyantynivka (not to be confused with the town of the same name). The Russians aim to capture this village to secure access to the road from Maryinka to Vuhledar. As Drymalovskyi explained, this road leads to two major cities in Donbas: Vuhledar and Kurakhove.

«These towns are subjected to brutal artillery shelling daily. The enemy conducts air strikes, and FPV drones are very active. Despite the exhaustion caused by these attacks, our paratroopers are holding up exceptionally well», — Drymalovskyi said.

The situation in the Kurakhove sector is further complicated by the wide range of weapons the Russians are using, with armoured vehicles being the most actively deployed.

«In our defence zone, it’s common to see Russian columns, which is quite rare on other parts of the frontline. Tanks, along with dozens of armoured personnel carriers filled with troops, are moving in an attempt to breach our defences through mechanised assaults», — the military added.

He noted that although the Russians are suffering heavy losses, they continue their daily attacks. In his view, the occupiers aim to level the front line and are using armoured vehicles to push back the Ukrainian paratroopers, but they are failing.

Kurakhove Sector: The Biggest Danger is Drones

According to Drymalovskyi, drones pose the greatest threat at the front. He mentioned that 80-90% of military injuries are due to drone attacks. Earlier, similar information was reported by military correspondent Anna Kalyuzhna from the Pokrovsk direction.

Drymalovskyi explained how drone attacks work:

«First, the long-range drones—Orlan, Superkam, and Zala—are deployed to locate targets. The enemy’s Mavics are also active, correcting strikes for FPV drones. On our front alone, the enemy can use up to a hundred FPV drones a day. Our paratroopers manage to neutralize a significant number of these drones using electronic warfare, and some are shot down with small arms. However, those that reach the ground pose a serious threat to us.»

The military officer pointed out that the occupiers have a large supply of drones and use them in massive numbers daily. Their goal is to paralyse the logistics of the Ukrainian Defence Forces, preventing the rotation of soldiers and the delivery of ammunition.

Drymalovskyi also added that the invaders face no shortage of equipment or personnel. He stated that Russian intelligence frequently reports a constant replenishment of Russian resources.
