President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that political violence has no place «anywhere in the world,» in response to the events at Donald Trump’s golf course.
The Ukrainian president shared his thoughts on Facebook.
«I am relieved to know that Donald Trump is safe and unharmed,» Zelensky wrote.
He wished all the best to his family. President also noted that it is fortunate that the suspect in the attempted assassination was quickly apprehended. He stressed that Ukraine’s principle is that the rule of law comes above all else. Zelensky pointed out that political violence has no place anywhere in the world and Ukraine sincerely hope for the safety of all
As a reminder, on Sunday, 15 September, two individuals opened fire near the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, where Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump was playing golf at the time.
The incident was reported by the BBC, CNN, and Reuters, citing statements from Republicans. They noted that Trump is safe after shots were fired near him. No further details are available at this time. According to eyewitnesses, law enforcement officers swiftly secured the area.
The US Secret Service posted on X that it is working with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office to investigate the incident, which occurred around 2:00 p.m. North American Eastern Daylight Time.
