The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has officially codified and approved the use of the TAKHA all-terrain amphibious vehicle in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The press service of the Ministry of Defence announced this on Friday, September 20.

According to the report, the vehicle is capable of operating on any terrain. This includes swamps, floodplains, deep snow, and even when transitioning from water onto ice. Due to its compact size and the ability to turn on the spot, the TAKHA all-terrain vehicle can maneuver effectively in confined spaces.

Additionally, the TAKHA can overcome obstacles over 1 metre high. The pressure its wide tyres exert on the ground is less than that of a human foot. This allows it to move across loose and unstable surfaces.

The vehicle can carry up to 1 tonne of cargo or up to 10 passengers. Its speed on land reaches 40 km/h. On water it can travel at up to 6 km/h. The all-terrain vehicle is equipped with multiple fuel tanks. This enables it to operate for more than two days on a single refuel.

The TAKHA amphibious all-terrain vehicle is already in use at the frontline for evacuations and for transporting ammunition and food in difficult terrain conditions where other military vehicles struggle.

In addition, in September, the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine codified and approved the use of a Ukrainian-made defensive fragmentation grenade, an analogue of the Soviet F-1. The Ministry also codified the Ukrainian-made armoured personnel carrier, Khorunzhyi, for use in the armed forces.
