How was the Ukrainian team selected for the international Invictus Games, the sports competitions due to be held next September in Toronto? Coordinators of the Ukrainian team, Ivona Kostina and Mykhailo Pimenov, tell the story in the studio of Hromadske Radio.
Invictus Games were first held in Great Britain in 2014. In 2017, for the first time, 15 Ukrainians will compete with participants from other countries. Invictus Games will take place in Canada.
The team’s coaches have experience in preparing participants for Paralympics.
The goal of participation is not just winning high places but seeing the Ukrainian veteran community as part of the international veteran community.
