Andriy Karachayevsky is in the studio, a psychiatrist and psychotherapist, Chief Specialist of the Public Health Ministry in medical psychology and psychotherapy, and also Olha Zaporozhets, Dr in teaching psychology consutancy and supercision, a teacher at the Psychology Consultancy Chair at Regent University, Virginia Beach, USA, a licensed professional consultant, an expert in the field of chemical and behavioral addictions.  

An addicted person can abstain for a year, still addiction remains, experts say. Addiction is a progressing disease. A person loses control over how much they consume and over how they behave during the stage of immersion. A change in life must happen in order to have recovery.

There are two kinds of addiction: strong addiction and light addiction. Swiss psychiatrist Samuel Pfeiffer says: most of us do have addictions. For instance if we find ourselves in a place where there’s no means of communication, many of us will feel uncomfortable. Valentyna Troyan prepared the interview with the psychiatrist for this broadcast.
