Seeds Will Grow song was created by Nerijus Glezekas – an American composer, singer/songwriter and award winner. This song was born with a mere purpose of raising awareness to the Russian attack on the Ukraine nation. This place of not anywhere near – Ukraine barely known to a regular citizen of the United States sounds like something of very little interest – something so distant and barely important.

Sure, war is bad – everybody knows that, but as long as our everyday life isn’t disrupted, we are ok with not knowing much of what’s going on there.

Nerijus’ mission is exactly that – to disrupt our everyday life, to touch our hearts and souls with music and meaningful lyrics so we get emotionally involved – it stings.

Nerijus was born in Lithuania, the year the country was still occupied by the Soviets. During these times the pain of an occupied nation was felt in every corner of the country, in the eyes of people craving for one end result- freedom and better times. Tanks were rolling through the streets but people weren’t shelled or bombed, this Revolution was a bit different – more than anything else it was an emotional torture of robbing people of their culture.

But Ukraine is suffering a mass genocide right in front of our noses, yet still so far away.

Nerijus strongly believes that the more people will hear about the war in Ukraine, the more people will be helping out by learning about the issue and staying open minded. This is why on February 28th, 2022 Nerijus stood in front of the rally with his weapon of choice – an acoustic guitar showing his support and solidarity.

During the year of ongoing war he tirelessly created content on his social media to raise awareness among his followers, he organized a fundraising concert and involved the like-minded colleagues, sent necessities straight to the front lines, kept in contact with soldiers fighting for their freedom, learned and recorded Ukrainian Anthem and created songs dedicated to the Ukraine nation.

Seeds Will Grow gained astounding recognition from Ukrainians all around the world, soldiers on front lines, journalists and radio shows. In 2023 Seeds Will Grow was nominated 1st place in the rock category by the Great American Song Contest. Maybe in everyday life filled with killings, shelling and destruction music isn’t as fundamental or essential but through music, through people’s emotions and feelings one can reach the deepest corners of a person’s heart that naturally wants to do what is morally and humanly right – to help.
