The Verkhovna Rada has voted in the second reading and as a whole for Bill No. 9432 on the use of the English language in Ukraine.
This was reported by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak of the Holos faction.
The bill was voted in favor by 236 MPs.
This law establishes the status of English as one of the languages of international communication in Ukraine. The document also defines the categories of positions for which candidates are required to speak English and regulates the specifics of using English in the work of government agencies, local governments, and in the fields of education, culture, transport, healthcare, etc.
