The air raid alarm sounded in Kharkiv for over 500 hours during 31 days in May, according to Mayor Igor Terekhov.

«Kharkiv lacks modern air defense systems. We really need them. I wish there were no such horrors as there were in May. How many people were killed, how many were wounded, how many attacks there were. In May, the air raid alarm sounded for 500 hours in Kharkiv», — the mayor said.

Additionally, the elimination of the fire caused by the night attack of the occupiers continues in the Kyiv region.

On the night of May 31, the army launched a massive missile attack on Kharkiv using the “repeated strike” tactic. One of the missiles hit a five-story residential building, destroying three floors. A fire broke out, and four more rockets hit near the building. At least 25 residential buildings, a store, and a sewing shop were damaged. In total, five fires broke out in Kharkiv as a result of the nighttime rocket attack, covering an area of more than 1,200 square meters.
