Journalist: Artillerists in the northern Kharkiv Region urgently need for 152-caliber shells
Ukrainian gunners working with Soviet armaments have expressed an urgent need for 152-caliber projectiles at positions in the north of Kharkiv Region.
This information was shared by Yevgenia Honcharuk, a host and journalist for Public Radio, who visited the area.
She noted that the situation in the village of Lyptsi has somewhat stabilized, but Russian occupiers still attempt to storm in small groups from time to time.
«Occasionally, there are attempts to use vehicles, but it does not currently provide any advantage for them.
We spoke with the gunners. Given the risks present during the day on the front line, they can use up to a hundred shells to neutralize the accumulation of hostile manpower or specific weapons, particularly mortars. Such intensity indicates that our forces are very precise and that the enemy will not have the opportunity to advance further», — Yevgenia Honcharuk said.
She also mentioned that gunners working with Soviet armaments repeatedly emphasize the urgent need for 152-caliber projectiles: «It’s like a mantra: Shells! Shells! Shells!»
«The gunners we spoke with work with old-style weapons. In particular, we visited the point where they use a trophy howitzer called «Msta.» This is precisely the 152nd caliber, not a NATO caliber; it uses projectiles for old weapons. Despite the intensity of the fire, they say, «We would like more so that we can work even more efficiently.» When you can effectively suppress the enemy with fire, they won’t even think about advancing», — added Yevgenia Honcharuk.
Earlier reports indicated that Russian occupiers have set up blocking detachments of Kadyrov’s troops on the border with Kharkiv Region to deter Russian invaders attempting to flee from Ukraine.
