This summer will be a breakthrough for Ukraine in terms of the sky — political expert

Last summer was successful for Ukraine’s positions at sea, and the end of summer 2024 and the beginning of autumn may bring the Ukrainian Defense Forces an advantage in the sky.

This forecast was made by political scientist Oleh Sahakyan on Hromadske Radio.

«An important statement was made at the NATO summit in Washington that F-16 fighters are already on their way to Ukraine. There is a chance that we will be able to see them in Ukraine not just in the summer, but in July.

Last year, Ukraine won at sea and strengthened its positions, unblocking ports for exports and imports. This summer may not be successful on land, but in the air, this summer and fall may be Ukraine’s. Even August may already bear its first fruits», – he said.

One of the outcomes of the NATO summit was the announcement that F-16 fighter jets would be delivered to Ukraine this summer. At the same time, Sweden emphasized that it is ready to return to the issue of supplying Gripen fighter jets if necessary, and France is prepared to provide Mirage 2000 fighter jets.
