Air defense destroyed 5 Russian missiles and 11 kamikaze drones launched by the occupiers at night.

This was reported by the commander of the Air Force, Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk.

According to him, on the evening of July 11, Russian troops attacked using strategic aviation aircraft with 5 X-101 air-launched cruise missiles (launched from the Saratov region of Russia). During the night, they launched 19 Shahed-131/136 attack UAVs and unidentified drones from the areas of Primorsko-Akhtarsk and the Kursk region in Russia.

The main focus of the attack was on Starokostiantyniv, Khmelnytskyi Region.

To repel the attack, fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units of the Air Force, mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, and electronic warfare units were engaged.

«As a result of the air defense, missiles were shot down in Khmelnytsky, Sumy, and Cherkasy regions. Air defense also shot down 11 «Shaheds» and unidentified drones in Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytsky, Kherson, and Sumy regions», — said Oleshchuk.

According to him, the remaining eight drones were lost at the location:

«Presumably, the enemy is using imitators of attack UAVs to overload air defense. There was no information on casualties or damage. In case of detection of suspicious objects, please do not take any action on your own but immediately report their location to the police, the State Emergency Service, or the local administration
