Zelensky: Ukraine has increased the number of border guards in all regions bordering Russia and Belarus
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy paid a working visit to Volyn Region. The meeting on the security situation and border protection was attended by representatives of the military leadership, the State Border Guard Service, and the heads of the Volyn, Zhytomyr, Rivne, Kyiv, and Chernihiv Regional Military Administrations.
“We have a strong defense on our side, both in terms of personnel and defense lines. In all regions that have borders with Russia and Belarus, we have also increased the number of border guards. And we continue to strengthen it», — Zelenskyy said.
For his part, the head of the State Border Guard Service, Serhiy Deyneko, reported on border protection, including the number of soldiers involved, their capabilities, and their weapons. The President got acquainted with the work at one of the strongholds in the Volyn region. He inspected the arrangement of trenches, firing positions, and dugouts.
Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, anti-tank ditches, barrier fences, and platoon strongholds with firing positions have been built here. Reinforced concrete structures and protective shelters for personnel have been installed in areas where the movement of the occupiers’ armored vehicles is possible.
