There may be no official confirmation of F-16 delivery from Ukraine — military observer

There may be no official confirmation of the delivery of F-16s to Ukraine.

Ivan Kyrychevskyi, a military observer at Defense Express, told Hromadske Radio about this.

“This is not usually a practice. When we received, say, MIG-29s from NATO countries like Poland and Slovakia, there was no official confirmation. The primary sources of information about the transferred aircraft were the Ministries of Defense of these countries. This is normal here because no one has canceled the norms of national legislation that do not allow disclosing various movements or reinforcements without the approval of the General Staff, at least in our information space», — he said.

According to Kyrychevskyi, on the night of July 31, monitoring publics reported the takeoff of strategic bombers, but the attack did not take place. This may be an indication that F-16s are in the Ukrainian sky. “If nothing happens, if nothing comes after us, maybe this is a criterion that the planes are already in Ukraine. But we are starting from the hypothesis set by the publications of some media,” he emphasized.

It is noted that the F-16 is now a priority target for the enemy. Regarding the safety of the aircraft, it is known that some of them will be stored abroad until they arrive in Ukraine. Kyrychevskyi answered the question about whether the defense of the aircraft that will be located in our country is ready:

“It is difficult to answer your question directly. No one will talk about camouflage measures, but there is one interesting fact about the Soviet-style infrastructure at airfields. It turns out that it is quite possible to hide an F-16 in a reinforced concrete shelter of the 2A13 type, which the Russians do not have. These hangars are outside; they are on the ground.»
