Russians are less than 5 km from Myrnohrad — city military administration
Russian troops are less than 5 km from Myrnohrad in Donetsk Region. This was reported by Yuriy Tretiak, the acting head of the Myrnohrad City Military Administration.
He discussed the situation on Hromadske Radio.
“We are within range of cannon artillery and FPV drones. The southeastern part of the city is constantly suffering from such shelling», — Tretiak said.
The city military administration representative stated that as of the morning of August 20, about 16,000 people remained in Myrnohrad, including 493 children.
“It is very difficult to operate with specific figures in this situation because people are leaving en masse. We are trying to constantly update the population count despite the circumstances. As far as I can tell, about 13,000 people are still in the city», — he added.
Tretiak emphasized that parents are hiding their children, sometimes moving from one place to another.
According to him, the evacuation hotline received 178 calls on August 19 and more than 200 on August 20.
“We are evacuating people by train, with routes leading to Dnipro, Kyiv, and Lviv. However, this method is primarily used by those who already know where they are going. We also have agreements with various communities, primarily in the Dnipro region, to take vulnerable people there, including the elderly, disabled, and single mothers with children», — he added.
Tretiak noted that Myrnohrad Hospital has ceased operations due to security concerns:
“We are sending patients to hospitals in nearby towns where the security situation still allows».
The acting head of the Myrnohrad city military administration concluded that people have only a few days left to safely evacuate.
As a reminder, the Russian military has occupied Mykolaivka in the Kramatorsk district of Donetsk Region. City of Pokrovsk is being less than 20 kilometers away. This is evidenced by DeepState data. It is noted, that when comparing our resources with the enemy’s, we have always been at a disadvantage. This imbalance is also evident in Pokrovsk.
The Russians have a quantitative advantage, primarily in manpower. Their artillery, aviation, and equipment are also active.
