«The number of Russian forces and equipment was twice as large» — 3rd assault battalion spokesman on the offensive in Kharkiv Region
Yesterday, as a result of counter-attacks by the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, they managed to advance nearly two kilometers along the frontline in Kharkiv Region. Additionally, the soldiers of the 3rd Assault Brigade took control of the occupiers’ battalion defense area, including platoon and company strongholds. The brigade announced this on its Telegram channel.
Today, Oleksandr Borodin, a spokesman for the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, spoke about the operation on Hromadske Radio.
«The attack took place near Borova in the direction of Makiivka. The enemy also tried to advance there,» Borodin said.
He noted that it was a complex operation, with the number of Russian forces and assets being twice as large. However, he stated that the goal of the operation—to diminish the offensive potential of the occupiers—was achieved. Now, the Russians are rebuilding their defense line and will try to retake the lost territories.
According to Borodin, the occupiers’ losses as a result of this operation amounted to 300-400 personnel, along with a large number of equipment, forces, and defensive positions. A small number of Russians were also captured.
«The loss of these positions by the occupiers is very significant. They spent a lot of time building and fortifying them. Now they will need even more time to construct new fortifications and carry out assault operations,» he added.
Borodin mentioned that the occupiers began to retreat immediately after the onset of «unfavorable conditions.» He also noted that the operation was conducted with close cooperation among the forces involved.
