Zelensky: Victory plan will work if partners make quick decisions

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine’s victory plan in the war is designed to ensure that partners make a series of swift decisions by the end of the year, noting that the success of the plan hinges on this.

He made the remarks during a joint press conference with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

«We would like that very much. Then we believe the plan will work», — Zelensky said.

Zelensky also emphasized that he hopes the U.S. President will support his plan. According to him, the success of the plan depends on partners making quick decisions between October and December this year.

The President mentioned that he has been asked about a Plan B, supposedly needed if President Biden does not support the «main victory plan.» Zelensky responded, «We are already in Plan B, we are living and fighting in it.»

Zelensky noted that Ukraine never had a Plan A, which might have prevented a full-scale Russian invasion.

Zelensky and the Upcoming Trip to the U.S.

As a reminder, Volodymyr Zelensky will visit the United States next week to present Ukraine’s victory plan to American officials.

«Volodymyr Zelensky will meet with U.S. President Joseph Biden and present him with the Victory Plan», — the Office said.

The President’s Office also noted that Zelensky counts on «the support of the United States in Ukraine’s struggle for freedom.»

Zelensky also plans to meet with U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, members of the U.S. Congress from both parties, and former U.S. President Donald Trump.

Additionally, he will address the UN General Assembly, meet with representatives of U.S. defense and energy companies, and engage with the Ukrainian community. On the sidelines of the General Assembly, Zelensky will hold bilateral talks with leaders of other countries and international organizations.

Earlier, president of Ukraine said that the victory plan is fully prepared. He mentioned this in his evening address.

«The most important thing now is the determination to implement it. There is and can be no alternative to peace, no freezing of the war, or any manipulations that would simply move Russian aggression to another stage», — the president said.

According to the president, all key points and details of the victory plan have been finalized, with the necessary annexes prepared.
