Hromadske Radio has been certified by the Journalism Trust Initiative (JTI). This is a standard based on one initiated by Reporters Without Borders (RSF). This distinction highlights the outlet’s transparency and adherence to professional media standards.

There are only a few media outlets in Ukraine certified by JTI, and Hromadske Radio is among them. The station successfully passed an independent external audit, which confirmed its transparency and compliance with the highest professional standards.

Our team was highly motivated to obtain JTI certification. We followed all the auditor’s recommendations, which has made us an even more thorough and trustworthy media outlet. Specifically, we have improved our internal work protocols and updated our security policies. The standards of Hromadske Radio’s work, along with our principles of presentation and verification of information, remain at the highest level, as evidenced by the results of the certification based on Reporters Without Borders’ standards.

This certification provides us with another opportunity to highlight the significance of an independent broadcaster like Hromadske Radio and to encourage our audience to rely only on verified sources of information,» – said Hromadske Radio’s editor-in-chief, Viktoria Yermolaeva.

As a reminder, Hromadske Radio is also included in the Recommended Media Map developed by Detector Media and the Institute of Mass Information, as well as the White List of top-quality Ukrainian online media.

The Journalism Trust Initiative (JTI) certificate is an international standard for journalistic integrity. It was created by Reporters Without Borders (RSF). The certification process involves an international mechanism that recognizes ethical journalistic practices and adherence to professional standards. The initiative aims to establish clear criteria for trust and quality in journalism, ensuring transparency and verification of these standards.

It’s also worth noting that Hromadske Radio was forced to cease operations in Hirnyk due to security concerns and the inability to replenish fuel reserves for power generation equipment. Prior to this, power lines and electrical substations in the Hirnyk area were damaged, causing interruptions in the electricity supply from Oblenergo networks.

In May, Hromadske Radio obtained broadcasting frequencies in Druzhba, Sumy Oblast (89.9 FM), and Velyka Mykhailivka and Podilsk, Odesa Oblast (88.7 and 92.0 FM).

Since January 2024, the Hromadske Radio Group has been broadcasting on 88.6 FM in Sumy and 105.9 FM in Chernihiv. You can also tune in to the station in Kyiv at 99.4 FM, in Kramatorsk at 90.9 FM, in Mykolaiv at 88.3 FM, in Kherson at 94.4 FM, and in Nikopol at 91.5 FM.
