U.S. President Joe Biden has announced the allocation of $375 million in military aid for Ukraine.

This was reported by the White House.

The Pentagon provided details of the new aid package, which includes:

  • Air-to-ground munitions
  • Ammunition for HIMARS systems
  • 155 mm and 105 mm artillery shells
  • TOW heavy anti-tank guided missiles
  • Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank systems
  • M1117 armored personnel carriers
  • MRAP armored vehicles
  • Light tactical vehicles
  • Armored bridge systems
  • Small arms
  • Patrol boats
  • Demining equipment and ammunition
  • Spare parts, auxiliary equipment, services, training, and other transport

This is the 66th tranche of assistance provided by the Biden administration from U.S. Department of Defense stockpiles since August 2021.

As a reminder, Ukraine is awaiting U.S. permission to strike Russian military targets.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy mentioned this during an interview with Fareed Zakaria on CNN’s GPS program.

«Everyone is waiting for a decision from the United States. After that, Europe will make its decision—it’s true. We want to use planes to target military bases, not civilian infrastructure,» Zelenskyy said.

The President noted that Russian aircraft taking off from military bases are using 4,000 guided bombs per month in eastern Ukraine alone.

«These bombs and missiles hit Ukrainian civilians, schools, energy infrastructure, and universities.»

According to Zelenskyy, Russia has destroyed 80% of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure using guided bombs.

«I mentioned in several meetings with officials that we waited too long for permission to strike Russian military targets. Now Russia has moved its aircraft from 100, 150, and 300 kilometers away to 500 kilometers. After that, I’ll tell you, we will need even more permissions,» he added.

Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine still does not have such permission.

As a reminder, the Ministry of Defence will expand the range of equipment available for the military. Technical specifications are currently being developed for baseball caps, knee pants, turnstile pouches, and tablets.
