The editorial office of Ukrayinska Pravda stated that the Office of the President has been exerting long-term and systematic pressure on the publication and its individual journalists.

This is outlined in a statement by UP.

«We would like to draw the attention of our colleagues, partners, and international organizations to the long-term and systematic pressure that the Office of the President exerts on the editorial board and individual journalists of Ukrayinska Pravda.»

The publication notes that the following actions threaten the sustainable operation of the editorial office:

  • Blocking government speakers from communicating with Ukrayinska Pravda journalists and participating in events;
  • Pressuring businesses to halt advertising cooperation with UP;
  • President Zelenskyy’s openly emotional communication with UP journalist Roman Kravets.

Ukrayinska Pravda has also officially stated that any attempts by specific officials from the Presidential Office to influence the publication’s journalists will be publicly reported and will have consequences at the international level.

«We call on everyone who values freedom of speech and the independence of Ukrainian journalism to join us and stand up for these values», — the journalists concluded.

As a reminder, the health of Ukrainian journalist and nurse Iryna Danylovych continues to deteriorate. She was illegally convicted by Russian occupiers.

This was reported by the Mission of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

During her unlawful imprisonment, Iryna began experiencing hearing problems. The woman has now completely lost hearing in her left ear. She has also suffered at least one micro-stroke and frequently experiences dizziness.

Thanks to the efforts of her family, lawyers, and human rights activists, Danylovych has received minimal treatment. At the same time, she has yet to undergo a full medical examination.
