Russians continue their attempts to advance in the city of Toretsk, located in Donetsk Region. Ukrainian troops are still holding back the offensive in this area, but since yesterday, the occupiers have made some progress.

Anastasia Bobovnikova, spokesperson for the Luhansk operational and tactical group, spoke about Russian losses in the Toretsk sector on Hromadske Radio.

«Over the past day, enemy losses amounted to 185 people killed and wounded. Around 40 pieces of equipment were destroyed or damaged,» Bobovnikova said.

On average, these are the daily losses for the enemy, Bobovnikova added:

«Ukrainian troops kill or wound about 200 Russian servicemen in the Toretsk sector every day.»

Earlier, the spokesperson noted that more weapons and shells are needed in the Toretsk sector to effectively defeat the enemy. She explained: «There is no such thing as too many weapons.» On average, Russian forces can carry out about 1,500 attacks in this area, but she emphasized that Ukrainian forces are much more accurate:

«We always need more—more shells, more weapons to effectively destroy the enemy. The Russians can make about 1,500 attacks in our area of responsibility on average, but the ratio… we are simply more precise. If they shoot anywhere, our artillery takes out a key target with just 2-3 shots.»

Russian forces in the Toretsk sector primarily rely on artillery, using vehicles less frequently. However, Bobovnikova noted that Ukrainian forces have also been highly effective with their artillery. For example, she highlighted the destruction of a KamAZ truck carrying ammunition to the Russian «Peony» artillery unit as a successful operation carried out by Ukrainian troops in the Toretsk sector.

As a reminder, the occupiers are advancing along Tsentralna Street, destroying buildings as they go. This has forced the Ukrainian military to reposition, as there is little left to hold onto in these areas.
