The Armed Force destroyed a quarter of the russian planes sent in to fight in Ukraine — Air Force Command

The Ukrainian military destroyed almost a quarter of Russian planes and half the helicopters sent to fight the war, said Yuriy Ignat, the spokesman of the Air Force Command, in an interview with RBC Ukraine. 

“If the new data is confirmed we will soon have an “anniversary”, 100 downed planes,” he said. 

Ignat noted that at the start of the war Russia sent 450 planes and 250 helicopters into Ukraine. 

“Our strike aircraft and artillery are successfully working as a means of air defense, at least 50 units have been destroyed, and we have succeeded in capturing some,” Ignat added. 

According to data released by the general staff of the Armed Forces on Mar. 18, since the start of the war the Russian’s have lost 450 tanks, 112 helicopters and 93 airplanes. Personnel losses amount to over 14 thousand.
