In Chornobayivka, the Ukrainian military was able to eliminate Lieutenant General and Commander of the 49th Russian Army Yakov Ryazantsev, said adviser to the president Alexey Arestovich.

«Our troops, we can now say for sure, destroyed the commander of the 49th All-Military Army of the Southern Military District of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Yakov Vladimirovich Rezantsev. And it happened, you will laugh at this, at Chornobaivka airfield,” Arestovych said.

This 49th All-Army is based in Stavropol. Rezantsev became its commander in August 2020. He previously fought in Syria.
