As of March 29, 144 children had died and more than 220 had been injured since the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine began, reported the Office of the Prosecutor General.

The greatest losses were in the Kyiv oblast where 68 children were killed or injured. In Kharkiv – 49, Donetsk – 54, Chernihiv – 38, Mykolaiv – 30, Luhansk – 28, Zaporizhia – 22, Kherson – 25, Zhytomyr – 15, Sumy regions – 15 and in Kyiv – 16. Data on dead and injured children in Mariupol are still being established.

As a result of the bombing and shelling, 773 educational institutions have been damaged, 75 of which are completely destroyed. The most damaged has been in Donetsk, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Zhytomyr, Sumy, Kyiv and Kherson oblasts, as well as in Kyiv.

These figures are not conclusive as it is not possible to gain access to some sites that have been shelled, particularly in areas where hostilities are ongoing and in temporarily occupied territories.
