There is evidence that the occupiers turned the police station in Kakhovka, near Kherson, into a torture chamber — journalist
Oleg Baturin, a journalist from the Kherson region who had been held captive by the Russian military for more than a week, said on the Hromadeske program «Release Our Relatives» that he had information that the occupiers had turned the police station into a torture chamber and detention center in Kakhovka.
«In early March, there were few options for keeping prisoners. Now the places of captivity have increased. There is evidence that the Kakhovka police department was turned into a torture chamber and detention center by the Russian occupiers. The prisoners are also being held in the Novokakhovka and Chaplin police stations and other former district centers, where police station buildings remain.
All the people released from Russian captivity said that they were being tortured and ill-treated there. From my experience and based on accounts from from other prisoners, I understand that the Russian invaders who came to Ukraine are sadists,» the journalist said.

By spreading pro-Russian messages, the occupiers tried to reach an agreement with the local population. In the region, they began to create a system of commandant’s offices to maintain «order» in the temporarily occupied settlements. As in the rest of the temporarily occupied territories, the Russian occupiers are kidnapping and torturing people in the Kherson region.
People are being shot and their houses destroyed in the Kherson region. On April 20, Ukrainian intelligence reported that Russia wanted to conduct a forced mobilization in the occupied territory of the Kherson region.
On April 25, the Russian military seized the Kherson City Council building.
In the Kherson region, the Russian occupiers are blocking «green corridors» for food and medicine, and evacuation. Business has stopped in the temporarily occupied territory of the region.
Kherson region is known for its Chornobayevka: its inaccessible airfield for Russians.
