Russian shelling hits cities across Ukraine

Sumy Region: Okhtyrka district targeted

Late in the evening of January 11, the peaceful town of Okhtyrka in Sumy region faced the wrath of an aggressor country. A targeted shelling set ablaze a residential area, causing panic and chaos among the local population. Swift action by firefighters prevented the flames from engulfing civilian homes, successfully extinguishing the fire and averting a potential disaster.

Kharkiv Region: Chuhuiv and Kupyansk districts under attack

Russian military forces attacked multiple settlements in Chuhuiv and Kupyansk districts of Kharkiv region. There were no reported casualties. On the morning of January 12, the city of Vovchansk faced two air strikes with guided bombs, prompting investigative teams, forensic experts, and explosive experts to work diligently at the scene.

Investigators have initiated criminal proceedings under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, focusing on war crimes committed by the occupiers.

Kherson Region: two civilians killed

Russian troops, exhibiting insidious tactics, launched attacks on Beryslav and Kherson districts in Kherson region. Employing mortars, artillery, multiple rocket launchers, and UAVs, the invaders aimed to destroy critical infrastructure and homes, causing harm to civilians. Residents of Veletynske, Ivanivka, Tokarivka, and Sadove reported damage to their houses, with Stanislav experiencing enemy artillery fire resulting in a 39-year-old woman sustaining injuries.

In the heart of Kherson city, one of its neighborhoods came under enemy fire. A shell struck a car, igniting a blaze that was extinguished by rescuers. Tragically, the burnt remains of a man were found in the car, and another woman lost her life at the site of the impact, highlighting the severity of the situation.
