The instrument for the confiscation of private assets of Russian citizens is not functioning — Galushka

In regard to the private property of Russian citizens listed under sanctions, the mechanism for confiscating such assets is non-functional.

This was stated by Olena Halushka, Head of the International Relations Department of the Anti-Corruption Action Center, on Hromadske Radio.

«The tool for the confiscation of private assets of Russian citizens is not operational. Currently, the only available means for confiscation and transfer to Ukraine is as a penalty for violating sanctions. This was demonstrated in the case of oligarch Malofeev, whose $5 million was transferred from the United States to Ukraine. However, this remains an isolated instance», — explained Galushka.

In related news, the United States has imposed new sanctions against the Russian Defense Ministry, targeting nearly a dozen individuals and organizations across Iran and other countries involved in supplying components for combat drones.
