Russian shelling across multiple Ukrainian regions: civilians affected, casualties reported

Poltava region

An unexploded rocket landed in the yard of a private house in the Kremenchuk district. The Poltava Regional Military Administration confirmed the event, stating that while there were no casualties, an outbuilding suffered damage. The area is now under the scrutiny of specialists as investigations are underway.

Dnipro region

On January 13, Russian forces launched a missile attack on Dnipro region. Serhiy Lysak, head of the Dnipro Regional Military Administration, confirmed the attacks, stating, that there were «hits» in Dnipro. He emphasized the primary concern is the safety of the people, expressing there were no reported casualties.

Lysak extended gratitude to the defenders of the sky, acknowledging their pivotal role in averting greater consequences. He also highlighted the unrest in the Nikopol region. The aggressor shows no signs of relenting, launching strikes on the area once again.

Kherson region

The Russian army’s relentless assault on Kherson continued, with last night’s attack setting fire to a residential building, a garage, and a car. Despite the threat of repeated shelling, emergency services managed to extinguish the flames. However, the toll stands at two lives lost, and the police are diligently documenting the aftermath of the 429 shells fired in the region.

The Beryslav and Kherson districts bore the brunt of the Russian aggressor’s continuous assault. Occupiers unleashed 76 attacks, firing 429 shells from various weapons, causing significant damage to residential and public infrastructure. Beryslav and Novoberislav faced precision strikes with guided bombs, exacerbating the dire situation.

In the Dniprovsky district, Russian shells damaged seven multi-storey buildings and a high-voltage wire, affecting water supply in the Korabel neighborhood. Emergency services swiftly responded, working to mitigate the impact. The police recorded 216 statements and reports from citizens about criminal offenses, opening thirteen proceedings under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Kharkiv region

Kharkiv region experienced war crimes as private houses, a lyceum, and warehouses were damaged. The towns of Vovchansk, Zolochiv, Vilkhuvatka, Vilcha, and others faced attacks, leaving private houses, enterprises, and agricultural machinery damaged. Thankfully, no injuries were reported, but investigative teams and forensic experts are meticulously documenting the consequences.

Chernihiv region

Chernihiv once again fell victim to a Russian military attack, resulting in destruction in the residential sector. Fragments of an enemy missile caused damage to several private houses and non-residential buildings, with one building nearly obliterated. Sadly, a dog lost its life. No human casualties were reported, and the police are actively working to document the aftermath.

Sumy Region

In Shostka, Sumy region, a missile attack by Russian occupation forces wounded a woman, and at least 26 houses suffered damage from the blast wave. The Sumy Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported that the attack, using internationally prohibited methods of warfare, involved supersonic cruise missiles X-22. A pre-trial investigation is underway, focusing on the violation of the laws and customs of war under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
