On the night of January 31 to February 1, 2024, soldiers from Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence Unit’s specialized Group 13 launched an attack on the Russian Black Sea Fleet’s Ivanovets missile boat.
The DIU’s press service reported the incident, releasing a video of the attack.
The agency stated that the boat was anchored in Lake Donuzlav in the temporarily occupied Crimea. According to the video, the boat came under attack from surface kamikaze drones.
The drones struck the boat’s hull multiple times, causing it to tilt towards the stern and eventually sink. The estimated cost of the boat is $60-70 million.
Preliminary information indicates that the Russian occupiers’ search and rescue operation was unsuccessful.
