The Russian forces attempted to breach the Ukrainian defense near Kupiansk — General Staff
During the last 24 hours, on February 5th, the frontline witnessed 126 combat engagements. Ukrainian forces successfully repelled Russian attacks across various regions, particularly in the Kharkiv region, while also launching counterattacks.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine provided the following updates:
- Kupyansk Sector: Ukrainian troops thwarted eight attacks near Sinkivka, Kharkiv region, as Russians attempted to breach Ukrainian defenses.
- Missile Strikes: Ukrainian missile units targeted two Russian command posts, a personnel concentration area, and three ammunition depots.
Frontline Situations:
- Volyn and Polissya: Operational situation remains stable.
- Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi: Enemy maintains a military presence, conducts sabotage activities, and increases minefields along the border in Belgorod region.
- Limansky: Ukrainian forces repelled 20 attacks in Luhansk and Donetsk regions.
- Bakhmutsky: Ukrainian troops repelled 10 attacks in Donetsk region.
- Avdiivka: Ukrainian defenders resisted 29 attacks in Novobakhmutivka and Avdiivka and 16 attacks south of Tonenke, Pervomaiske, and Nevelske in Donetsk region.
- Maryinka: Defence forces repelled 26 attacks in areas of Heorhiivka and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk region.
- Shakhtarske: No offensive actions reported.
- Zaporizhzhia: Ukrainian forces repelled two attacks in the area of Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region.
- Kherson Sector: Ukrainian forces expanded their foothold despite significant losses, repelling three assault attempts by the enemy.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian Defence Forces continued to inflict losses on the occupation forces, depleting the enemy along the entire frontline.
Regarding the shelling of Ukraine, Russia launched 7 missile and 35 air strikes in the last 24 hours, firing 90 times from multiple launch rocket systems. Civilian casualties and infrastructure damage occurred in Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions, with over 110 settlements affected in total, spanning Chernihiv, Sumy, Dnipro, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions.
