Ukraine’s Ambassador to the United States, Oksana Markarova, has issued a warning about Kyiv facing a critical shortage of military equipment. In an interview with Bloomberg, she expressed optimism that U.S. lawmakers would overcome the deadlock and vote for the aid.

Markarova emphasized the urgency, stating:

«We still have enough people who want to fight. We have no choice because we are defending our homes, but we are running out of military equipment, especially missiles and interceptors. Kyiv needed help «yesterday».

She welcomed the procedural decision in the Senate to further consider a bill allocating additional assistance to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan. Markarova expressed satisfaction with the strong bipartisan support for the decision, considering it a first step in the right direction.

Addressing the possibility of former President Donald Trump returning to the presidency, Markarova mentioned that Kyiv should thank him for providing Javelin missiles during his administration. She stressed the importance of ensuring the United States remains strong and continues to support Ukraine.

The bill, passed by the Senate on February 8, allocates $61 billion for Ukraine to counter Russian aggression, $14 billion for Israel in its conflict with Hamas, and $4.83 billion for partners in the Indo-Pacific, including Taiwan, to deter Chinese aggression. President Joe Biden, supporting the compromise bipartisan bill with border measures, accused Donald Trump of trying to derail its passage.
