UAV operators are currently undergoing training for warfare against Ukraine at the Shayrat airfield in Syria, as reported by the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.

The training, conducted by the Lebanese Hezbollah Police and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, is taking place on the grounds of the Syrian military airfield Shayrat. The collaborative Lebanese-Iranian-Russian program focuses on mastering the operation of Shahed-136 and Ababil-3 UAVs, along with the Raad remote-controlled aircraft, according to the intelligence service.

The military exercises are being led by Kamal Abu Sadik, one of Hezbollah’s commanders with expertise in the manufacturing and maintenance of drones. In addition to Russian participants, mercenaries from Syria, intended by Moscow for deployment as UAV operators in the war against Ukraine, are also undergoing training there, according to DIU.
