Ukrainian defense forces successfully thwarted a Russian offensive in the Zaporizhzhia sector

On the night of February 19, Russian troops launched an offensive in the Zaporizhzhia sector, attempting to breach Ukrainian positions. The Ukrainian Armed Forces effectively repelled the assault, inflicting damage on enemy equipment and personnel.

«In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy’s offensive was thwarted. Personnel are in retreat, and equipment has been destroyed», – the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported

According to the military, the Russians made a second attempt during the night to repeat the offensive and breach Ukrainian positions.

«All enemy actions were unsuccessful, with their equipment destroyed and personnel casualties reported», – stated the Army.

In the past 24 hours, Ukraine witnessed 80 combat engagements at the frontline, with the enemy attempting attacks at the Lyman, Avdiivka, and Maryinka directions.
