Rescuers have successfully mitigated the aftermath of the night attack by Russian occupiers in Sumy, addressing injuries and destruction. Four adults and a child sustained injuries during the attack.

The State Emergency Service’s press center, along with city and regional authorities, reported the consequences of the attack by Russian attack drones.

«On March 6, three enemy drones targeted residential areas of Sumy during the night. Rescuers promptly initiated efforts to address the aftermath of the attacks at three different locations simultaneously. Fire had to be extinguished in three apartments on the third floor of a five-storey residential building», — stated the rescuers in an official statement.

At another location, residential buildings and cars were damaged due to the strike.

Oleksiy Drozdenko, the head of the Sumy City Military Administration, reported several injured, stating:

«The enemy insidiously struck three parts of the city with Shaheds at night. Residential areas were damaged. There are injuries, but fortunately, no casualties».

Volodymyr Artyukh, the head of the Regional Military Administration, confirmed on Radio Liberty that four adults and a child were wounded as a result of the nighttime drone shelling of Sumy. Fortunately, most of them suffered minor injuries.

«One ‘Shahed’ was shot down on the approach to the city, three entered the airspace over the city of Sumy and hit. The air defense forces changed their course, and these ‘Shaheds’ hit almost all the neighborhoods, and we have no casualties. But the infrastructure was heavily damaged», – he further explained

One «Shahed» specifically targeted a hospital with approximately 400 patients.
