The Odesa region is once again under attack by the Russians, resulting in hits and destruction
On the night of March 11, the Air Defence Forces successfully intercepted 10 Russian attack UAVs in the Odesa region, with an impact recorded in the Odesa district resulting in damage to an infrastructure facility.
The Southern Defence Forces provided details on the aftermath of the enemy’s assault, stating:
«The combat operation lasted for an hour and a half. The air defence units effectively thwarted waves of «Shahed» drones arriving from the Black Sea, complicating air defence efforts with intricate manoeuvres within residential and industrial areas».
The military confirmed the downing of 10 barrage drones of the Shahed-131/136 type over the Odesa region. However, the report acknowledges unavoidable hits, notably in Odesa district, where an infrastructure facility suffered damage, and administrative buildings were impacted. The ensuing fire was promptly extinguished. The shockwave from the attack shattered windows in nearby private houses and caused damage to outbuildings. Preliminary reports indicate no injuries.
Overall, during the overnight operation, the Defence Forces successfully neutralized 15 out of the 25 «Shahed» drones utilized by the Russian forces in their offensive against Ukraine.
