In the Sumy region, residents of villages beyond Velyka Pysarivka near the the border are evacuating on foot. Russian forces have destroyed all the bridges in the area using guided aerial bombs.
Alyona Yatsyna, a journalist with Kordon.media, reported this information on Hromadske Radio, stating:
«People from the villages located beyond Velyka Pysarivka, closer to the border, are fleeing as best they can. People are leaving without their belongings, walking, because the Russians destroyed all the bridges in the community with their CABs. It is impossible to get there. From what we see, fires are raging in the villages. The village of Popovka is now cut off, and the situation is the same with Oleksandrivka, where evacuation is very difficult. The police are helping to evacuate people on foot. A little over 100 people have evacuated in this way, but there are still people there«.
It’s worth noting that evacuation from the border community of Velykopysarivska, Sumy region, was announced on March 13th.
